Cheryl Myers

My name is Mrs. Cheryl Myers, and it is with great pleasure that God has chosen me to be your child’s 1st Grade teacher.  This will be my 17th year teaching, 14 of which were spent here at OLPH in Kindergarten, 2nd and 1st Grade.  I am originally from the state of Maryland, but moved here with my family when I was very young.   I attended Arizona State University for both my Bachelors and Masters degrees.  

My husband and I just celebrated our 18th  anniversary.  Last year we spent the summer traveling with friends to visit family in Maryland and Virginia, going to the beach, and we even took a tour of many monuments and government buildings in Washington DC.  Throughout the year the students will see many of the pictures I was able to take on this memorable trip. We have a beautiful, spunky, free-spirited 9 year old daughter who attends 5th Grade in the Deer Valley School District.  She loves to sing, dance, do gymnastics, play soccer, and pretend to be a teacher.  The students will get to know my daughter and husband very well over the school year, as they like to visit often.

Some of my favorite things are: Being outdoors either hiking, camping, at the beach or in the mountains. Watching sports!  GO ASU, D-BACKS, CARDS and RATTLERS!!!!  I am a HUGE fan of the Arizona Rattlers Indoor Football team.  (The students will hear a lot about them starting in February.) If anyone is interested in getting tickets to a game let me know. I love to spend time with family, playing with my 2 dogs, singing at church, taking photos, crafting, and pretty much doing anything with my daughter.
